Rachel Williamson - Ann Collings

Rachel has been in and out of newsrooms for the past eight years.

A year-long journalism boot-camp in the University of Canterbury graduate journalism diploma in 2007 scrubbed the rough edges off her writing and introduced her to broadcast journalism and, grudgingly at times, shorthand.

Rachel has interviewed New Zealand and Filipino politicians, business high fliers, and everyone from touchy mayors to refugees.

Two months interning at the Philippine Star in Manila, in 2008, was an experience in covering the Philippines Department of Foreign Affairs, Senate and Presidential rounds. The move afterwards to Sydney took her into Asian business news where she now writes stories and edits news from across Asia.
